Come Rain or Shine
It's fall at last in Western NY, and the weather certainly reflects that: daily highs from Sunday through Wednesday are projected to be in the mid- to upper-50s to lower 60s, with evenings in the lower 40s (note: we're talking degrees in Fahrenheit here). Sun and showers are forecasted to be intermittent through the period (updated local forecast)
All signs also seem to be pointing to the fact that the Rochester region should be hitting peak fall color as the leaves change in the next week to 10 days, so you'll get to see some of the most beautiful fall scenery in the USA while you're here!
If you require other arrangements and would like assistance, you can contact Lori Packer, Conference Social Coordinator.
Maps and Directions
Visit Google Maps for driving directions to the Hyatt and Clarion hotels in downtown Rochester, NY, or visit the hotels sites directly.
Amenities and Services
Both conference hotels provide the following services for their guests:
- Wireless Internet access in all rooms
(included in reservation price) - Wireless network in public spaces
- 2-line phone with voicemail and data ports
- Cable/satellite TV
- Fitness room and sauna
- Indoor pool and sundeck (Hyatt only)
Park It
For those who plan to have a car at the conference, courtesy parking is available first-come, first-serve in the Clarion parking garage. Additional parking is available for a fee at the Hyatt and other downtown garages (Overview of downtown parking. Note: the Clarion garage is noted as P1 on the map.)
Shuttle It
For those who are flying into town via the Greater Rochester International Airport, there are several ways to get downtown (about a 10-15 minute drive). Outside of the baggage claim there are a number of taxis and budget shuttles. The Hyatt and Clarion both also offer shuttle service for their guests. To request your hotel's shuttle, go to the courtesy phones across from baggage claim. Enter your hotel's courtesy code (listed next to the phone) to contact your hotel's transportation desk, and a shuttle will be sent for you.
Access to the Interweb
Wireless will indeed be available during the conference; however, all systems have limits so we ask that you please log off when not in use so others may log on. The Clarion's Riverview Lounge should also have some wired hookups, and there will be a limited number of wired e-mail stations in the Silver Room. In a pinch, try the Hyatt's wireless at the conference level. Wireless access is also, of course, included with rooms at both hotels.
